Nanoscience

Nanoscience is the study of materials, phenomena, properties, and applications at the smallest length scale at which we can control matter. Nanoscience has rapidly growing applications in a wide range of technology areas including medicine, information technology, renewable energy, and advanced materials. The Nanoscience curriculum is designed for students with an interest in the physical sciences (think Materials Science, Engineering, Physics, etc.) and has applications in areas such as electronics, information technology, renewable energy, and advanced materials. The major includes courses that introduce the intricacies of nanotechnology and explore state-of-the-art techniques on how to synthesize and characterize particles on the nanoscale.

Degree Program

Highlights:

  • The Nanoscience degree program offers a cross-disciplinary scientific education and brings together multiple scientific disciplines (chemistry, physics, materials science, engineering, environmental geosciences and life sciences) to provide students with the expertise to explore powerful new approaches to solving current and complex scientific problems

  • The B.S. degree in Nanoscience at 小猪视频 Tech is only one of two such programs in the United States and is designed for students with an interest in the physical sciences disciplines (think physics, materials science and engineering).

  • Discoveries in nanoscience have rapidly grown applications in a wide range of technological fields and drive new technologies that impact everyday life from healthcare to energy solutions and span diverse fields such as electronics, information technology, medicine, renewable energy, aerospace and advanced nanomaterials

  • Graduates are highly sought after, with many pursuing successful careers in industries such as biotechnology, engineering and technology while others continue into prestigious graduate programs with materials science being a common graduate program for students with Nanoscience degrees to pursue.

  • Small Major - Big University: small class sizes allow students to develop a close relationship with faculty whom are very passionate about their field
