Aerospace Engineering Design Lab

The Aerospace Engineering Design Lab (AEDL) is an off-campus facility that consists of 6,500 square feet of space and houses up to 12 undergraduate design teams in the areas of rocketry, drone technology, aircraft technology, and turbine energy.

AEDL teams travel to many parts of the United States to compete in world-class engineering design competitions.

Architecture and Design Studios Tour

Visit the immersive learning environments where students in Architecture, Industrial Design, Interior Design, and Landscape Architecture turn their ideas into reality.

This tour will include Cowgill, Burchard, and Burruss Halls.

Benchside with Biochemistry

Step inside the Undergraduate Science Laboratory Building (USLB) and experience biochemistry where learning and discovery happen every day. This all-day, drop-in opportunity invites prospective students and families to explore the spaces where undergraduate biochemistry courses, laboratories, and experiential learning activities take place.

Visitors can connect with academic advisors, faculty, and current students to learn more about the Biochemistry major, undergraduate research opportunities, career pathways, and student life.

Facility tours will be available throughout the day, offering a firsthand look at the modern teaching and learning environments that support biochemistry students.

Tour the Center for Real Life Kitchen Design and see the 360-degree learning atmosphere students in Residential Environments and Design actively use to turn their ideas into reality.

Frith First-Year Makerspace Lab

The Frith First-Year Makerspace is designed to support the retention and development of young engineers through hands-on learning, peer mentoring, and authentic problem-solving.

Part collaboration and innovation space, part fabrication and prototyping space, and part learning laboratory, Frith is integrated into the first-year foundations of engineering courses.

General Engineering students learn by dissecting, designing, making, and analyzing engineering products.

Geoscience Museum Tour

Drop by one of СÖíÊÓƵ Tech's hidden gems: the Museum of Geosciences, home to an amazing collection of fossils, minerals, and a cast of a dinosaur skeleton.

The museum's mission is to increase the public's knowledge, inspiration, and appreciation for geosciences through outreach opportunities.

Graphic Design Beyond the Classroom: From Student to Professional

What does it actually look like to study in the School of Visual Arts at СÖíÊÓƵ Tech? This interactive session takes visitors beyond the classroom to explore how students develop from design learners into emerging professionals.

Through real examples from Limestone Creative, DesignUP, and internships, visitors will see how students move from coursework to client projects, interdisciplinary collaborations, portfolio-ready work, and jobs.

Current students will share a behind-the-scenes look at their experiences, including what they wish they had known when they first started studying design. Tour two research lab spaces in Human Development and Family Science: the VT Learning and Development Lab and the Cognitive Developmental Science Lab.

Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise Lab Drop-In

Drop in and discover all that the Department of Human Nutrition, Foods & Exercise has to offer.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to tour the Applied Human Physiology Lab and learn about an ongoing research study examining running performance and fatigue.

School of Communication, Digital Studio Tours

Explore the Multimedia Journalism and Sports Media and Analytics majors in our state-of-the-art Multimedia Center, where students use the same equipment you would see in a top 50 television market studio.

Multimedia Journalism students build essential storytelling skills: writing copy, shooting and editing video, and recording and producing audio.

Sports Media and Analytics students gain real-world experience in interviewing, sideline reporting, and play-by-play broadcasting.

Tours will leave every hour beginning at 11:15 AM. The last tour will start at 3:15 PM.

SynTech Lab Tour

The Organic Synthesis and Techniques (SynTech) Lab is home to both the organic chemistry lab courses taken by chemistry majors as well as the capstone lab for the polymer chemistry major. Come see the modern and industrially relevant instruments used by our students to create and analyze organic compounds!

Undergraduate Animal Facilities Tour

Get an inside look at СÖíÊÓƵ Tech's undergraduate animal teaching facilities during this guided tour led by a School of Animal Sciences Ambassador. Learn about hands-on learning opportunities, explore the facilities where students gain real-world experience, and discover what makes animal sciences at СÖíÊÓƵ Tech unique.

Tours will begin at the Alphin-Stuart Livestock Arena on Plantation Road. A map and additional details will be emailed to registered attendees prior to the event.

Because tour lengths and end times may vary, we recommend selecting this as your final registered session of the day.

Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.

Ware Lab

The Ware Lab is one of the first spaces on СÖíÊÓƵ Tech's campus dedicated to the development of an undergraduate engineering build space. The lab removes boundaries that often separate engineering professions.

In real-world practice, engineers from different disciplines work together. Students who work in the lab are highly recruited by top-tier companies looking for well-rounded, globally minded engineers with hands-on experience.
